Hi, I’m Jael! 🧶
I’m fifteen, and I live in Englewood, Colorado with my parents, my four sisters, and my two brothers.
My mom taught me to knit when I was six. My dad wears beanies just about every day in the winter, so I started making him one every year for his birthday. He loved them so much that one Christmas he gave me a Sentro knitting machine, so I could make beanies faster and with fewer mistakes — and that’s really how Jaely Beanie began.
When I make a beanie, I start by walking to my local yarn store, Blazing Star Ranch, just a mile from my house. All of their yarn is hand-dyed, and I pick out the very softest skein I can find. Then, while I knit, I pray for the person the beanie is for. Every single one is made with care — and with someone specific in mind.
The name? When I was a baby, my parents sometimes called me “Jaely Bean.” So when I started my little company, Jaely Beanie was a pretty obvious choice.
